Hello and welcome to this months edition of the Share Six blog, for February we have one of my favourite themes ~ Out of Focus~ I love to shoot wide open and use long exposure, slow shutter and movement to achieve abstract, out of focus painterly shots. The more you shoot the more you get addicted. For all these shots below I used my Lensbaby Velvet 85 and a Neutral Density filter which meant I could keep the aperture at f2.8 which gives an added softness and a compelling surreal quality. So, if you need to spice up your creativity or get out of a rut, I encourage you to give it a try - experiment till you find a composition you like. Switch to manual, keep your shutter speed low to increase the blur/movement., it's time to rethink our quest for sharpness, why not break some photography rules and create striking, out-of-focus / abstract shots depending on the look and feel we want to evoke . Sharp is overrated anyway ;-) “It’s only after you’ve stepped outside your comfort zone that you begin to change, grow, and transform.” ~ Roy T. Bennett I hope you enjoy my interpretation of the theme, remember to click on the link below and follow the blog circle to see what the other talented Share Six ladies have come up with this month!.
