Hello and welcome to this months edition of the Share Six blog, our new theme will be ~double exposure~ I'm lucky that my Sony A6000 has an onboard double exposure app, it's great fun and is so creative - I really love to use it with ICM which you can see in last months blog. The ones I've chosen for this month are actually from a few years ago when my son would help me out. I still love them as much now as I did then and thought they fitted the theme so well. “Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun.” - Mary Lou Cook Useful Links: https://www.adobe.com/uk/creativecloud/photography/discover/double-exposure-effect.html https://phlearn.com/tutorial/create-double-exposure-photoshop/ https://expertphotography.com/double-exposure-in-photoshop/ https://www.playmemoriescameraapps.com/portal/manual/IS9104-NPIA09014_00-000009/en/index.html I hope you enjoy my interpretation of the theme, remember to click on the link below and follow the blog circle to see what the other talented Share Six ladies have come up with this month!. Hello and welcome to this months edition of the Share Six blog, our new theme will be ~ intentional camera movement / ICM ~ In the simplest terms, ICM can be defined as a photographic capture while intentionally moving the camera during the exposure. This technique enables you to achieve results that often resemble paintings or abstract impressionism. ICM photography is controlled movements in order to create a desired image and atmosphere. The direction of the camera and panning direction or even simple waving or gentle jiggles, can create different results and an artistic end result/vision, ie you can pan: Horizontally, Vertically, Circular, Diagonally or by Zooming during exposure. You can just your your fingers and hands for small movements or using your arms and body for bigger movements/ lines and shapes. You may need ND filters if you can't get your shutter speed down, and if you want smoother results you can use a tripod with a ball head or just hand hold and experiment. Keep your ISO low, use a longer shutter speed which means yo may need to close your aperture down. On days that you can't take your 'big' camera there are lots of slow shutter apps for your phone so you can always play! Here are some useful links if you would like to delve into this technique more. https://www.lightstalking.com/intentional-camera-movement/ https://youtu.be/FfKLo4jIAIY https://camerajabber.com/simple-guide-intentional-camera-movement/ https://www.icmphotomag.com/ I hope you enjoy my interpretation of the theme, remember to click on the link below and follow the blog circle to see what the other talented Share Six ladies have come up with this month!. I had a wander down Buchanan Street which was all lit up with the Christmas lights, thankfully the rain had stopped but it did mean the pavements were glistening! I went for a bold edit to help with the busy festive feel! "Life is a painting, and you are the artist. I highly recommend it - as you walk your body soaks up Vitamin D from the sun, which not only helps keep your bones healthy, but also boosts your happiness levels. Walking in nature also helps to raise your endorphin levels and helps reduce the symptoms of depression. Photography also has a number of therapeutic benefits linked to our mental health as it allows us to detach from our stresses and responsibilities and improves our mood. We saw some spectacular sunsets and did plenty of walking although there are lots of steep hills so we had plenty of chilling by the pool to relax those tired legs!! Last year we went to Costa Adeje which is a coastal part of a town and municipality in the southwestern part of the island of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands, and part of the province of Adeje, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain. Then in March this year we had a week in Puerto de la Cruz which is a city on the north coast of Tenerife, the largest of Spain’s Canary Islands. It’s known for its dark, volcanic-sand beaches. “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” ― Lao Tzu I hope you enjoy my interpretation of the theme, remember to click on the link below and follow the blog circle to see what the other talented Share Six ladies have come up with this month!. As you can tell by the name they help create wonderful reflections, light and add depth to images. They can also create double exposure and abstract type effects - so something I really enjoyed!
