Hello and welcome to this months edition of the Share Six blog, for March our new theme is ~Sky~ As our eyes gaze upwards, what do we see? The ever-changing drama of the atmosphere, the vastness - from clear cold azure blue, pale dreamy pastels to epic vermillion fiery sunsets, to awe inspiring magnificent heavenly light filtering through wispy cloud or stormy raging turbulent clouds. Certainly the most incredible sights to behold. "Aim for the sky, but move slowly, enjoying every step along the way. It is all those little steps that make the journey complete." ~ Chanda Kochhar I hope you enjoy my interpretation of the theme, remember to click on the link below and follow the blog circle to see what the other talented Share Six ladies have come up with this month!. Hello and welcome to this months edition of the Share Six blog, for February we have one of my favourite themes ~ Out of Focus~ I love to shoot wide open and use long exposure, slow shutter and movement to achieve abstract, out of focus painterly shots. The more you shoot the more you get addicted. For all these shots below I used my Lensbaby Velvet 85 and a Neutral Density filter which meant I could keep the aperture at f2.8 which gives an added softness and a compelling surreal quality. So, if you need to spice up your creativity or get out of a rut, I encourage you to give it a try - experiment till you find a composition you like. Switch to manual, keep your shutter speed low to increase the blur/movement., it's time to rethink our quest for sharpness, why not break some photography rules and create striking, out-of-focus / abstract shots depending on the look and feel we want to evoke . Sharp is overrated anyway ;-) “It’s only after you’ve stepped outside your comfort zone that you begin to change, grow, and transform.” ~ Roy T. Hello and welcome to this months edition of the Share Six blog, our new theme will be ~painterly~ Happy New Year, I hope 2024 is abundant with happiness, health, peace and creativity by the bucket load! I could certainly do with some as I have been in a bit of a creative rut for the last few months and hardly touched my camera, so I have missed the last couple of blog loops. For this month I thought these creative iPhone and Lensbaby Omni painterly images fitted the bill. I love how you can be creative on the go , especially if you remember to pack an Omni in your pocket or bag! "You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved." ~ Ansel Adams I hope you enjoy my interpretation of the theme, remember to click on the link below and follow the blog circle to see what the other talented Share Six ladies have come up with this month!. The first six are a combination of long exposure, a crystal ball, coloured finger lights stuck to a ruler if I remember rightly and my trusty Lensbaby lenses, then the last four were taken at a camera club practical night using light wands - again using Lensbaby . I should try this again now the nights are getting darker! Hello and welcome to this months edition of the Share Six blog, our new theme will be ~ beautiful light~ One of the things I love about the Lensbaby Omni wands is that your can create your own beautiful light. They help to give your vision energy - igniting the rich colours, giving depth and texture. Just by twisting and turning them you can achieve a great variation of prismatic light and colour. Combine that with movement and it's like painting with your camera, creating a wonderful abstract mood - visual poetry for the soul. “There is a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in.”~ Leonard Cohen I hope you enjoy my interpretation of the theme, remember to click on the link below and follow the blog circle to see what the other talented Share Six ladies have come up with this month!. Hello and welcome to this months edition of the Share Six blog, our new theme will be the ~ Adamski Effect ~ This month we have pushed ourselves to try something new, the Adamski effect involves duplicating your photo (in Photoshop or similar editing program), and then on the top layer selecting just your main subject so that it remains in sharper focus, then on the lower background layer using some type of motion or path blur to create a beautiful blurry, dreamy background. Here are a few from my first attempts at this process, not perfect but quite fun and I learnt something new! Here is a tutorial if you want to try it yourself : https://youtu.be/0EVka8tbwg4 “Creativity takes courage. ” ― Henri Matisse “The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.” ― Sylvia Plath I hope you enjoy my interpretation of the theme, remember to click on the link below and follow the blog circle to see what the other talented Share Six ladies have come up with this month! Hello and welcome to this months edition of the Share Six blog, our new theme will be ~ your choice ~ This month for our free choice theme I have chosen some of my favourites from this years Fused by Me Project 52 group. The premise of this group is experimenting with creating double exposures, fusing, blending and bringing a little magic to our images. There are crystals, gels and reflective sheets that you can shoot through, either attached to your camera with a magnetic holder or just by holding them in front, the possibilities are endless and they add magic, light and flares to your images - making the ordinary extraordinary! Hence the overshare ..... “The artist’s world is limitless. It can be found anywhere far from where he lives or a few feet away. It is always on his doorstep.” – Paul Strand I hope you enjoy my interpretation of the theme, remember to click on the link below and follow the blog circle to see what the other talented Share Six ladies have come up with this month!.. I hope you can go out and see the small details normally missed, just look a little bit closer and it’s a whole different world! "There's something in the very small minutia of life that tells us something about the big, big picture that we see every day all over the place, and so I think the more specific and creative and revelatory you are in the micro, the more powerful the macro will be." ~ Philip Seymour Hoffman I hope you enjoy my interpretation of the theme, remember to click on the link below and follow the blog circle to see what the other talented Share Six ladies have come up with this month!. Hello and welcome to this months edition of the Share Six blog, our new theme will be ~double exposure~ I'm lucky that my Sony A6000 has an onboard double exposure app, it's great fun and is so creative - I really love to use it with ICM which you can see in last months blog. The ones I've chosen for this month are actually from a few years ago when my son would help me out. I still love them as much now as I did then and thought they fitted the theme so well. “Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun.” - Mary Lou Cook Useful Links: https://www.adobe.com/uk/creativecloud/photography/discover/double-exposure-effect.html https://phlearn.com/tutorial/create-double-exposure-photoshop/ https://expertphotography.com/double-exposure-in-photoshop/ https://www.playmemoriescameraapps.com/portal/manual/IS9104-NPIA09014_00-000009/en/index.html I hope you enjoy my interpretation of the theme, remember to click on the link below and follow the blog circle to see what the other talented Share Six ladies have come up with this month!.
